Private Billing Practice

Private Billing Practice

Zed3 operates on a private billing model. Fees are payable in full at the time of your consultation. We do not offer bulk billing services unless agreed with your clinician in advance.

Payment Methods

We accept cashless payments including:
• EFTPOS (debit cards)
• Visa and MasterCard credit cards
• Cheque (with appropriate identification)
Cash is not accepted. All payments must be made before leaving the clinic.

Third-Party Payments

Medicare Claims

Zed3 processes Medicare claims on your behalf for eligible services. Once your payment is received, we lodge your Medicare claim electronically. The Medicare rebate is then deposited directly into your nominated bank account, typically within 3-5 business days.

If claiming through insurance or worker’s compensation, written approval must be obtained before your appointment. Without prior approval, patients are required to pay the full consultation fee upfront and seek reimbursement directly from their insurer.

Referrals

Referral Requirements

Medicare requires a valid referral to access mental health services and claim rebates. Referral types and validity periods are:
GP Referral – Valid for 12 months from the date issued

Specialist Referral – Valid for 3 months from the date issued

Hospital Discharge Summary – Valid for 3 months from discharge date

Submitting Your Referral

Referrals must be emailed to: reception@zed3.com.au
Please submit your referral as soon as possible after receiving it from your doctor. Include your full name and contact details in the email subject line to help us process your referral efficiently.

Without a Valid Referral

If you attend an appointment without a current valid referral, you must pay the full consultation fee and will not be eligible for Medicare rebates. Ensure your referral is current before booking your appointment.

Zed3 can provide clinical reports, medical certificates, letters, and other documentation when clinically appropriate and requested.

Contact the Practice Manager to request reports or letters. Requests should specify the purpose, required content, and any deadlines.

Report Fees

Report Fees

Fees for reports and letters depend on complexity and time required to prepare. Complex medico-legal reports, and comprehensive assessments typically incur higher fees than standard medical certificates. Report fees are payable when the report is collected and are not eligible for Medicare rebates. You will receive a quote for the report prior to the Clinician commencing work.

Timeframes

Standard reports are typically completed within 7-14 business days. Complex reports may require 3-4 weeks. Urgent requests may be accommodated where possible but may incur additional fees.

Prescriptions

Managing Renewals:

Patients are responsible for ensuring timely prescription renewals. Please request repeat prescriptions during regular consultations or book a medication review appointment if needed.

Scripts Outside Consultations

If you require a prescription outside of a scheduled consultation, contact reception to arrange this. A fee may apply for scripts issued without a consultation, and these fees are not eligible for Medicare rebates.

Authority Scripts

Some medications require authority approval from Medicare or DVA. Authority script applications can take up to 10 working days to process. Please allow adequate time and do not wait until your medication runs out before requesting renewals.
