BA (Hons. Psychology), PhD, Clin Psych.
Rachelle is a clinical psychologist and research associate. As a research associate, Rachelle is involved in a range of research activities within the areas of PTSD, veterans’ mental health, and transdiagnostic treatment approaches.
As a psychologist, Rachelle takes an integrative approach to therapy, meaning she draws from a range of interventions and theoretical frameworks depending on an individual’s goals and current challenges. Her primary approach to therapy is through the lens of psychodynamic self psychology, which is a depth-oriented and relational-focused therapy. She has also been trained in, and draws from, cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT, DBT-skills, ACT), schema therapy and EMDR.
Rachelle’s passion is within understanding each individual in their own unique way. She values the opportunity to hear people’s stories, help them gain a deeper understanding about themselves and their relationships, and find ways to create meaningful change. Rachelle works with adults experiencing a range of concerns and life challenges. She has particular experience and interests in trauma (including childhood/complex trauma, PTSD, and dissociation), depression, anxiety-related difficulties (including generalised anxiety, phobias, OCD), psychosis, relationship difficulties, issues concerning sex and intimacy, and body image and eating difficulties.
Rachelle undertakes research on Tuesdays. She practices psychotherapy on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
